Of a girl thats so dramatic to read.
It doesn't need any more explanation
But says it all in that short read!

She heard just of his name at first.
Then, about his looks in awe.
Later she asked where he lived, fast.
Soon she was mad of his persona.

Shunned her mom and everything as well,
Gave up all culture, taught or owned.
Lost herself and her name. Only willed
Nothing other than his feet, so stern!

There is a deeper meaning here. The first one is direct, a lover's longing and the changes that she undergoes after hearing of him; yet not being with him, though she longed only that. The second is divine - Its about a devotee's plea to Lord Siva, to be merged with him always. This type of poetry is classified as esoteric poetry.

To my knowledge, nothing comes closer to this, when we talk about longing and transformation. It was written by Thirunavukkarasar [one of the 63 supreme devotees (nayanmars) to Him]. And Kalki has used this song to depict an everlasting Sivakami [the female lead character] in the climax of his novel, Sivakamiyin Sabadham [The Vow of Sivakami].
