On a white steed In the gust of the wind Speeding away On a narrow alleyway My beige light cloak Flutters behind me Without taking the bouts Wanting to cling to me. The blades of tall grass On either side Rise and fall like a tide Waving in the wind Touch my bare skin In a gentle caress And goad me forward to spin. This is a lot of thrill And the speed takes me further The hooves never stop Galloping on the soft land And leave no dust behind. The stretch of trail Looks welcoming till the end As far as my eyes can tend Arousing interest within To see what lies beyond.
Vidhya, Very nice. Having a similar mentality, life will be very interesting - exploring the unknown and learning new things all through.
Awesome poem Vidya. :thumbsup //The blades of tall grass On either side Rise and fall like a tide Waving in the wind// These lines brought William Wordsworth's poem Daffodils to my mind. Very nicely written. I am nominating this poem for this month. Good luck to you and hope to read many more fine compositions from you.
Every minute's thrill and learning something new everyday, makes the life and mind so active.. Good poem..:thumbsup
Dear Vidhya, One could feel the rush of breeze against the cheeks even as the eyes strained to look beyond the horizon! Speed was conveyed with poetical verse which at once captures one's imagination and makes you read between lines. A refreshing poem! L, Kamla
