Default B'day ideas for 2 year olds

Hi,

Please suggest ideas to celebrate 2 year old's birthday..
i live in a community with about 19 families as neighbours. I am thinking about doing away with the party(after all the kid will not really appreciate the crowd!! )..instead i am thinking of buying a gift box (maybe sweets, chocoloates) and give it to each family with a picture of my kid.. we'll probably do a round of the neighbour;s houses, mention its her bday and give the gifts.

what do you think? will it seem rude?

Hi Minnu,
Happy Birthday to your lil one!!!!
You will run out of energy if you take your kid and make a visit to all the houses.
It need not be a party with the works, but simple so that other kids enjoy and you don't have much to do.
Though it might not be rude all your neighbours might wonder why you are going to their houses with a gift instead of them coming over.
My 2cents Hope this helps.

Hi Minnu ,
Advanced Bday wishes to the little one .
In my opinion , visiting neighbours with gifts could be avoided , it may put them in a rather uncomfortable spot . They may also feel compelled to give something in return .
From my experience , kids don't mind not having a party when they are two .It may matter when they are three but not at two.
If you really want to do something ,you could have a snack party in the late afternoon just for the moms and kids in the neighborhood.Cake, chips, drinks and something like samosa should be enough .You can distribute return gifts then .But you need to keep it short , maximum for 90 mts or so.Plan around the child's naptime.
Else just take her out to her favorite place and keep it a simple family affair .They will love a party when they are three ,you can have a gala party then.

Good Luck
Shobana
