Dear Chitra, I think it was an innocent query put forth by Sarada for which your response was a nasty one. When I was in school, I had found a baby squirrel that had fallen from its nest and since I had held it, its mother refused to accept her back. I fed it with bottle milk and later made a hole in another large tree for it and used to stock it with nuts, peanuts, etc. from my weekly tuck money. Of course it used to recognize and hop on to me. Later in life I have raised birds but never kept them in cages. They were all free to come and go. I like it like that. I like to take care of stray/street dogs too but never want to control their freedom.
