"p.s. just realised how I rush to defend Harley.. but if someone says something about my son I'm definitely less defensive" Mamma Mia !!! a thousand pardons ,Kelly dear....You are a loving Mom indeed ....admired the way you rushed to defend darling Harley . I did not mean to offend dear Harley or U at any point ....honest ...cross my heart !LOL! All I meant was that Harley has such a loving home and is well protected from any disturbing scenarios ....so he knows only the BEST of everything but sometimes when an unpleasant surprise like a naughty PUG appears on the scene during your absence his reactions are like what you wrote about . Actually compliments were being heaped upon U as the considerate owner of Harley!:hide: Glad to hear all about Harley barking at strays while he goes for walks with you.:cheers

This is my dear pom, the (dog) love of my life. When we initially got him, my dad did not want him because he was 'black'(inauspicious). We started looking for another good adopter for him (we were actually just buying time) but within a month, as we expected, he melted my dad's heart with his antics. My dad turned into his biggest fan eventually. He was sweet, mischievous and my mom's darling. He filled our lives with smiles and we adored and pampered him. He died at 11 years, in 2004, in my mother's arms. She poured some Tulsi water in his mouth before he died. I could not have a last look at him because I was out of the country. When I got the news and spoke to my mom, she asked me to stay calm as he is now on a cloud, looking at me and he wouldn't like it if I was crying. Sometimes when I see a cloud, I imagine my little doggie sitting on it and looking at me. In the photo, I was attempting to pack him in my suitcase (was just kidding) after a vacation at home.
Hi there ...RIBBO from COLOMBO !! perfect rhyme indeed. Please do write about your pets and post pictures too ...we are waiting ...
Thanks Paulina, though I don't own a dog currently, I sometimes foster. I love to take photos of my foster babies.. so I have a lot of photos to share. I will post soon. Yes, my mom's words were a great comfort to me. Many years have passed now... and I am glad that whenever I think of my Snoopy now, I always do so with a smile.
This is Dobs (5 years). She was found as a stray and was rescued by a shelter, but no one claimed her. She then stayed in the kennel for a few weeks. I had just been approved to foster for a rescue center and the center recommended that I start with her, as they felt that she has a sweet temperament. And she's really sweet, timid, calm and trusting. She would stay close to me, always keeping me in her sight, following me everywhere... Loved the Indian masala smells in the kitchen. Once, somehow, she got into the trash bin and found herself a red mirchi and was so happily starting to eat, but I caught her and took the mirchi away, she looked so sad :rotfl She hardly ever barked, even when other dogs barked at her. The only time I heard her bark was when she chased a squirrel up a tree. But she would howl and yelp in her sleep. Once she started howling in her sleep and wouldn't stop until we woke her up. She slept most of the day, making it easy for me to click photos of her.. She loved her walks and going to the park. That's her in the park, running happily..and just hanging out.. We (DH and me) adored her..She brought me out of my blues and made me smile so many times everyday... I had her with me for 5 short weeks and then she got adopted. We dropped her in her adopter's home and she looked so sad, as if she knew we were going to abandon her..And as we left, she kept staring out of the her new home's glass front door, only her white muzzle visible clearly to us through the shadows and the door as we looked back. That image of her looking on sadly is going to stay with me for a while.. On a happier note, her new mom/owner emailed me a few times with her updates and Dobs is now settled down and happy in her home. Here are a few funny close ups I have of her..
