There are various things involved. You can get a firewire card for your PC and connect your camera (hope ur camera support i-link or firewire capability). The whole movie can be transferred to your hard disk, by using Windows movie maker. Remember a 60 minute movie occupies 10gb and 90 minutes, is more than that.
Then you can use windows movie maker to edit the complete movie, by adding effects, titles and transitions. On completion, you can create an AVI file with all effects. Use Nero software to create a DVD from that AVI. You can use Nero to create chapters and DVD menus. If you arent interested, you can jus' burn that AVI file to a DVD.
This might sound an elongated process....but all you would require is patience with tons of interest to convert kids' videos, as they are a lifetime treasure.
