Default Sewing Machine problem

Dear Friends.,

I just bought a Singer Sew Quick Sewing machine.,Its a small Hand held type of machine used just to do on the spot sewing and stiching with chain stiches

I am not familar with the sewing machines., I Already set and ready to use., but when I tried it., the needle is just going in the cloth but not making any stiches.,
The thread goes from the bobbin and then to a samll hole and then to the tension control and then to the eye of the needle..,

I follwed the instructions but it dnt work for me., the machine is good., I think there is something wrong with my threading.,

Can Somebody giude me in sewing.., It will be very helfpul for me to sew.,
Thanks in advance.,

dear padma,
did u put the lever down on the cloth before starting to stitch, because that is the one that will hold the cloth and move forward as the stitch forms, it is just behind the need section of the machine and a small jut out when u push it down it will hold down. find attached pic marked the place with a black arrow..sunkan
