    Hi All,

    I and my DH are complete foodie..He loves to eat and I love to cook.. I keep trying various recipes of various cuisines. I have a special interest in baking, for it and there's one key thing I don't have and that is an oven.. I have a microwave but cakes made in microwave are not upto the mark.

    My sil made nankhatai in her oven and they were awesome in look and taste. My vote goes for oven which is best for baking. I think most of you will agree that M/W is mostly used to reheat the cooked food. Isn't it??

    Here, cast your vote for microwave or oven.and let me know, what exactly you do with it ...

    Wow, wonderful pair.
    I use microwave a lot. yes to reheat and to boil water, milk, boil potatoes and other such vegetables that can be done in m/w instead of pressure cooker. also i make rice in micowave only. i can put it in the m/w and set timer and leave to office. it comes real handy. heard a lot about m/w and health issues but i just am not ready to let it go.
    Oven is by far the best for baking and replicating tandoori items. only thing is the time it takes to do anything with oven....

    Its nice to know that you guys are made for each other :)
    I use my oven for grilling purpose especially fish , and for baking, poping corn , reheating and defrosting meat.

    Thanks for your wonderful reply.. Hey, you are using your miocrowave for various purpose..that's good ya..You know mine is just like a showpiece and i really use it most of the time for heating purpose.. I don't know when my hubby will give his nod to bur an OTG..:rantwell it will take sometime..He recently bought a treadmill for me..You see this wonderful pair needs one..:biglaugh

    hi, same pinch Deepali even my m/w is sitting like a show piece. I use it just for heating purpose & for quick defrost. Once I tried to bake cake but it did not come out well.

    Exactly ya.. I also tried to make cake, but they were ok type..oven works better for cakes and baking.

    In my mom's place also, it is sitting idle, she is not using it for anything. one reason is it pulls a lot of current.
    you should buy a recipe book with mouth watering pictures and talk about making them, that will motivate him to buy what you want.:idea
