PDA in Chennai!- Part 1

Dear friends,

Longtime no write and all that!

A word of caution being a ladies forum; some of you who may take it amiss at the contents of this post and slam me for talking about taboo subjects!

This is Part 1 of a series about Public Display of Affection on Chennai beaches and other public places between couples...take a call on whether to read further!

I take long evening walks on Besant nagar and Ashtalakshmi temple beaches with my wife...to enjoy the sights and sounds of lovely breaking waves and cool seabreeze wafting on our swaeting faces and cherish the warmth of holding on to dear one's hand...

These days the beaches are full of courting couples from all walks of life , especially young unmarried lovers, Boyfriend-girlfriend, college going types who inhabit and pollute the sands of these beaches with their objectional display of physical intimacy..As the Sun sets and darknees creeps in, the actions of the huddling shadows that dot the beaches become bolder and even reckless...When wife and I walk , we find them hugging rather unabashedly , their hands and legs everywhere and openly french kissing on the seafront...

Needless to say , we turn our faces away and our own intimate words stop abruptly and embarssedly...
We go home thanking heavens that we did not bring children of impressionable age along..

We raise a furore about Moral policing and personal freedom and openly support the liberates on TV and bash the right wingers as 'neo-talibans'!

Some restraint is certainly called for in public beaches...The trouble is who will bell the cat? (Jai ho, Pramod Muthalik!)

Only positive outcome of these amorous and rousing scenes we saw on the sands reflects next on our bedroom life..when we reach home, well..ahem....the mood is just right, lots of expectancy...and the nights become a little too long than they used to be on other days...

If I say one word more, I may have an army of members hunting me down the length and breadth of Chennai beaches for obscenity!!!

what you are saying is true. i have seen so many things and used to get angry. i would like to slap them all and put them in prison. Rantbut i am not a M.L.A or even a vaata seyalalar to take the law in my hands. this happens even in valluvar kottam!!!!! who is to bell the cat. we can only feel and share our thoughts.

ayyo! what you say is true Padmini madam, about Valluvar kottam...

Thiruvalluvar must be turning in his grave..in his monument such mischievours and shameful display of intimacy!

Even cinema halls in multiplexes and shopping malls are not free for clean couples and families to wander without getting red in the face...

Some of them ( girls) wear low waist jeans , expose naked waist back upto top of their undergarments while they have their partners' arms and hands all over the body, even while walkingin malls etc

...When we have children or old parents or unmarried sisters with us, this becomes very embaraasing...

Of course this is nothing compared to Mumbai beaches and Bangalore malls , but still this trend of the youth in Chennai is unsettling and causes moral anguish nevertheless...
