Waiting for the Passport for the Past 8 Months

Hi friends,
My brother has applied his passport on 4th quarter, 2007. He is still waiting for the passport to arrive. He applied in coimbatore office. He is going to join for his job in 10 days and the company is asking passport while joining. When we check the status report in the web, it says "Demand Draft removed and Application is Under Procees". We're getting this for the past 6 months. People who've applied after him have got the passport. We don't know how to find it and what do we need to do further.

Can you help us to do the necessary steps to get the passport?

i am sure you can apply for the thatkal service, which is really fast. I did for my kids in a week.

Hi Uma:

It is possible that they came for police verification and there was no on at home. Please go and check at the passport office as they would send the file back if they could not confirm the verification.

I also know that if you take a letter from your brother's employers stating that it is important for him to have the passport and submit it at the passport office- this could expedite the process.

I dont think he can apply even for Tatkal, considering there is already an impending application.

try going to pp ofiice in person and find out..the net servce is not very elaborate and when you go there tyou can explain your situation there and try getting the passport...

Hey,

First go in person and ask the enquiry people or meet the Administrative officer, who is in charge and give the details of the DD and other documents given , the unique no on the passport application, to him. He can find within few seconds on his monitor.
