Hyper Hydrosis: Excessive sweating in Chennai

Dear members,
Hyper hydrosis is excessive sweating in Coastal humid weathers exacerbated in Summer..

Not sure if this has already been discussed, but I am surely sweating out on this one...Quite literally!

Hailing from Bangalore and quite recently moved to Chennai, this has been a revealing experience in more than one sense...Men can wear less clothes in summer here...(( 'topless' if you pardon my crude expression!) but women suffer sulkingly without such a privilege!!)

It beats me and my family of four as to why we sweat so much here... and how to beat it!
Tried all types of deodorants, powders and wettened innumerable no of kerchiefs, napkins and tissues ( dry and wet ones!...I mean dry tissues become wet after use and wet ones don't show how it is wet! )

Taken showers ( tried cool, warm and hot) after returning from every venturing outside between 11 a to 4 pm , when it is extremely humid and sultry in Chennai...

Then the Airconditioners running nearly 20 hours a day when we are home..Only in Bedrooms though, how to air-condition in huge living rooms with many doors and windows??...I mean you can't shut everything and sit in all the time!!)

Still no respite,,,So dear chennaiites and other coastal beings ...How about some good suggestions on what else is there to be done?

That must be quite maddenning for a banglorean!! Wish we all had a solution to the never ending sweat and to beat the heat.

Some things that could possibly help is to keep your internal system cool like drinking lots of water, buttermilk, melon juices etc.

If you have terrace right above your rooms, try to water the terrace in the evening ...so that rooms are a bit cool at night (at least).

Avoid warm or hot showers...it is only going to increase the sweating!
What more.....just hide in AC...whenever possible!!
