Any info about getting Paintings or artisitc work

Hi Ilites/chennaities,
Can you please let me know the places where i can get good paintings (bigger ones) or some good wall hangings(craft work) for my Living Room. The room is Quite big and the wall is empty.
I thought it wud be wise to put up a bigger single artistic piece.

Any info about cost/Place where i can find are welcome.
Suggestions are also welcome.

One of my collegues here suggested that i shud check out landmark, odyssey and also the 7 floor saravana store...... confused...........

What I would suggest is pick out two/three vaireties....you asked for painting so i gave you the art galleries..

Yes dakshin chitra is costly...

Otherwise you get very bright wall hangings from gurjari...gujarat emporium...even rajasthani exhibitions....

then lepakshi is andhra pradesh showrooms...they also have good ones....

you have the assam, the nagaland art emporium on greams(??) road...there you get thier spears and also the traditional red/white/black combo art works which are really eye catching....

Why dont you make one...so that you can display it proudly on your wall.....

You can do it on cross stictch on the matt cloth...or take jute sack and do a picture using cross stictch on it and then frame it....

Odyssey and land mark you get great posters.....

i dont make too many things these days....because of my health...i only make small things in crochet..thats all...

If not i can definitely help you out....

The cross stictch...I know an aunty who made the gita saram on the sack in cross stictch she was 70 when i was a kid she was an inspiration for my knitting and crafts.....

I will definitely let you know if there is something coming..

Or why dont you check out meera rajesh..she was talking about clients for her painting....just an idea....

You can get paintings at exhibitions in C.P.art centre ,cottage emporium,Kaveri handicrafts ,Poompuhar in Mount Road.Even in Chettiar hall there are regular exhibitions.
