Dear Sarr Very nice!!!!! for this we have to go for classes or can learn ourselves? Is there any classes in chennai? kantha
thnx ramvino and kantha.... kantha, cud u pls see my previous thread(pls rate my kerala mural painting).if u still have doubts i'll try to clarify.:thumbsup kerala mural painting originated in kerala.as it began to adorn the walls of celebrity palaces,it was commercialised.now,in every nook and corner of southern states u can find workshops on mural painting.upon god,MOST OF THEM ARE NOT MURAL PAINTINGS.:bonk remember.... -its a temple art, hence turned strict vegan on days i paint, also its advised not to paint on certain unholy days. -every God/Goddess/demon has a unique attire, with a specific colour. -only 5 colours and their combinations are permitted. -every jewel/dress has a specific name -shading part is the most difficult:drowning all feminine characters have partly closed eyes.lips are almost ape like, but pretty.if u find a painting with the face similar to the one u see in calender(realistic)....sis,its not mural! its not as complicated as it sounds.but from every painting u imbibe a new message.moreover i've a friend and a cousin to help me out. right now,i'm stuck with 2 big paintings.if possible i'll try to share the procedure thru IL.again,i swear u cant learn the art this way.but its better than losing money over nothing!:thumbsup
Hi sarr, Congrats on completing such a beautiful piece. It is simply marvelous. thumbsup:thumbsup. What you have written about it is very true. One has to learn it from a teacher only. I learnt one from a teacher & have been trying to learn about the details & the laws that govern these paintings by studying various pics on internet. I would like to know about the kinda details you have given in your post. can you give more such info. BTW please check out my threads on kerala mural and fabric painting and saree painting. vidya
