Paintings : Glass Paintings Tips & Tricks

hi everyone,

I'm Vishnu. I Know very little about glass painting . i have done one also when i was learning about it. I have few queries with glass painting.

1)How can i get the skin color to paint on glass. I use fevicryls glass colours. but the colors they provide are limited.

2)Is there any other company glass colors which can be used.

I have a fairy picture which i want to do as glass painting.

I want the fairy wings to be covered with glitters of pink color . is it possible.

please can anybody sort out my problems.

I can suggest , that you can use fabric paint also in the case of Skin color.

Hi vishnu,
By glass painting I suppose you are referring to stain glass paints. Camel has a range of stain glass paints. you can also blend colors & lighten with medium to get the desired effect.
If it is reverse glass painting then you get skin colour fabric paint itself.

i forgot to add that in stain glass you can use glitters by 1st spreading the glitters in the desired area & then using the paint.

till now i have tried only flowers in glass painting(its been ages since i did them). now i want to try a different
painting like lord krishna.

how do i get the flesh colour for the face and hands?

hi Saideep, u try little crimpson with more of white or scarlet red little with more of white. First u mix sample before using it. This is how we do in tanjore painting.

if using fabric colors, whihc sometimes work well on glass- then u can use teh color called flesh tint- it gives u real flesh color.

Sudha, can i use the flesh tint colour for the glass painting too? Can u tell me which company is it available in..like camlin, fevicryl??? What are acrylic colours?

for face colour(peach) mix white+orange=peach
Pink+yellow=orange
blue+yellow=green
pink+blue=violet
yellow+green=parrot green
green+orange=brown
pink+blue+green=gray
blue+white=light blue(for krishna)
u'll get it in fevicryl.
