the reason for the crack is dough not mixed properly and hardness of the dough. The dough is too hard/thick
after your stunning effort,Really i feel :x,but do some make over/ smoothening.
Make a 50% thick paste of maida + fevicol and apply all over, cracks will be covered.
Dry it and see if the prob persist do one more coating.
    Now
    the mixing magic:
Mix ceramic powder/plaster of paris in 1:1 ratio
Water + fevicol in 1:1 ratio

Keep this points in mind in next attempt.
    1.Mix/knead properly to avoid cracks.
2.Make soft, smooth dough so that easy to bend/blend shapes
3.Don't keep the dough for long,it will tend to try, make instantly, preferably in small quantity.
4.Apply oil/vaselline on hand while working,to give extra gloss to your shape.

    Thanks.

fevicol is added as a binding agent and What I learnt was using diluted fevicol.Depending upon the commercial product you can add water.
    I never had any issues.

There are so many variation of mixing powders like ceramic + corn flower(not sure with the ratio) where no water is added, but replacing bit of glycerin.

    Thanks.
