Why not share our wedding snaps?

Hey Guys,

Can I tell something.

Krithi has already outlined it. But being in IT industry for these years and working with many security projects, I thought I have a responsibility to tell. Sharing personal information even if its Photos is not safe. With lots of illegal stuff that's growing, it might fall into some bad person's hands (Remember I am not talking about members here, but just a search can lead to the page and its not that hard to crack and view the attachments). Lots of illegal things can happen -->photoshop [ cropping your face into some other's body, using it in illegal sites and what not. I dont want to explain further, but I think you get the point]. that too in this current age in technology, its always advisable to not share anything in the open forum/sites etc. Why do you think, yahoo photos, any other legal foto storage site spends $$$$$$ on servers and its authentication?

Also this site being only for ladies, you can very well understand how much prying eyes might be there on a lookout.

I don't know about other threads. My advice is for all of 'em.

I totally agree on this. I also work for security projects and I have decided I will never reveal my family pictures in public forums . In one of the Cloth diaper forums they took all the baby photos and mis-used them so badly the mothers had tough time digesting the fact.So please stay away from posting personal pictures especially wedding pictures.Since we don't have many friends to share things in Real Life we try to share them using internet forums but we don't know who is writting under which Id. And also thinking of all the physchs .Its better we keep our family safe.And also anyone who register can see photos.In some other forums they create a private photo forum and access will be given only after n number of posts and certain period of time and those cannot be searched by google.So maybe in IL they can create some private groups for people to share photos

Very true... I would second ur suggestion too.. have an active members only section, where we can share to people we feel comfy...

I agree with the abuse part, it is a shame that we cannot share things out in the open but it is the sign of times, better to send an email or post it on a password protected site.

As you said it's a dangerous game. Just think of the recent affair at New Mumbai. Technology has become tapping of information for immoral purpose by default in the hands of reckless people. kanaka

Thank you for your concern about sharing personal photos. We (as runners of the site) are also equally concerned about the security and safety of the members and hence we keep constantly educating members not to share any personal info. in the open forum.

Also, in our next Forum Software upgrade we are exploring the possibility of introducing a private album feature, with which you can host your personal photos within the album and give access ONLY to your selected member friends here. So, stay tuned!
