Dear Sriniketan,

I can only admire you for undertaking such a daunting task.
My knowledge of Thirukkural is almost nil. I may have heard few stanzas here and there, but have no idea further than that. I am very eager and excited about this venture of yours. Wish you all the success :)
I visited the other thread and read your first five verses. Ofcourse, the very first couplet is very popular, thanks to many Tamil films!!
I see that you have posted it under Snippets forum. It will be better for an easy access if placed under Religion and Spirituality forum. Along with other cultural and religious material, Thirukkural will also be available for the interested ? As you are putting so much work and energy into it, it should be available for everyone who will be interested even in the far future.
Another suggestion would be that all the comments and suggestions should be posted in a different thread, may be here? That way, Kural will have its own column all for itself. And it deserves it !
My 2, no, few cents:)

L, Kamla

Dear Sriniketan,

I join the others here in admiring your efforts to share your translation works about the "Thirukural" with this community. Glad to know that some more IL'ites like Sundarusha, Oviya, Sowparnika are also joining you in this effort make it a collective work and sure will be a success.

Wish you all "Good Luck" and my prayers to take this effort to a completion. This definitely will be a good source of knowledge to the community.

Kamla,
I have been suggesting Sriniketan and Sundar Usha to take up a separate blog space to host these Kurals and translations. That way they are available in a more organized manner for those interested.

You are absolutely right...comments/suggestions about this effort are to be posted here. While the '5 Kurals a day' blog is reserved for the Kural, their translations and more better explanations about the Kurals if anyone wants to add.

Appreciate your suggestions.

Malathy

Thanks sri for your encouragement...

Kamla,

thanks for your wishes. and encouragement...me too have little knowledge about Thirukkural based on what we hear and learnt during the school days...whenever somebody quotes about Kural, I feel bad that I did not read it with enthusiaism earlier in my life..
your suggestion is very apt...as I don't know at that time to provide the link, I messed it up...AC helped me out to provide the link..
Just now I received a PM from the Induslady offering us a blog separately, to that idea...

Geeth,
thanks a lot for the encouragement...but it is in my/our english. so be prepared...

Vidya,
Thanks for your encouragement and interest...sure will try my/our best in this regard...

Dear Bhargavi,
Thats Awesome... Just saw today's Kural for the day!!. Your effort is greatly apperciated. I was just thinking some days back of writing down some important kurals that I learnt in school (in that manapada paguthi in tamil subject) so to teach my daughter. Your post would definetely help us to learn and teach ourt kids. Your explanation is simple but with lot of meaning. Thanks again.

Regards,
Priya

Hi Sriniketan,

Nice thread. I am very fond of Thirukural. I use to tell kural while feeding
my kid. At first she was starring, but now she wants to listen Kural because
of my repetition. There is no poem equals Kural. It touches all the aspects
of life in 1.75 lines (not even two). Whenever I feel depressed or low spirits
I used to recollect some kurals. Good thread.

How is your response to this idea.....waiting....to see....

Sriniketan

Note: You can find the Kurals posted in this blogspace everyday!
Dear Sriniketa
An excellent idea this will be a treat for people like us who are unable to read Tamil.
Thanks a ton
