My try for this is 16 and 25 are the next numbers in the sequence.
So the sequence could be
53-72
34-53
25-34

16-25
17-16
Am I correct?

Gayathri.

When the Titanic sank in the ocean, four gentlemen and four young ladies floated on to an island. After a while, all of them fell in love with each other. Each person loved one and only one.

The girl that John loved fell in love with Jim. The girl that Allan loved fell in love with Bill. The gentleman that Rose loved fell in love with Mary. Gloria loved the gentleman who loved rose. Gloria did not like Jim and John. Bill did not like Mary. Jill did not like the gentleman who loved her.

The question is: Whom did Allan love?
I think Allan loved Gloria.
Plz tell me its right or wrong.

Gayathri.

I have a horse. Do you know what color it is

Allan said, "I guess it is not black".
Brian said, "It is either brown, or gray".
Charlie said "I know it is brown".

I said, "At least one of you is right and at least one of you is wrong." What is the color of my horse if the color is one of the above?

I think the horse is is gray color.
If we take the combinations of truths and lies, this will be true.

There are 2 doors, the life door and the death door. There is one guard standing by each door. Those two guards know which door is the life door and which is the death door. However, one of them always tells the truth and the other always tells a lie. There is no way you can identify which door is the life door or the death door. There is no way you can distinguish who is the one telling the truth.

The prisoner can only ask one guard one question. Then he needs to choose a door to walk in. If he walks in the death door, then he will be executed. If he walks in the life door, he can have a new life.

He did choose the life door and lived. What was the question he asked? How did he choose the door after he got the answer from one of the guards?

Hi
He can only ask one guard one question. So first he goes asks the first guard "is this the death door?" . After that, he asks the second guard , " Am I a lady? ". From the answers he can easily distinguish who is telling truth and which is the door he has to go to have life.
If first guard tells yes and second yes
First one is truth teller and second one lier. So he goes to the second door, which is life door.
If first guard tells no and second yes
First one is truth teller and second one lier. So he goes to the first door, which is life door.
If first guard tells yes and second no
Second one is truth teller and first one lier. So he goes to the first door, which is life door.
If first guard tells no and second no
First one is lier and second one truth teller. So he goes to the second door, which is life door.

Default Solution to Puzzle 1

Nalini,

See my solution below :

This will be the question asked by the prisoner:

If I ask the other guard to show me the life door, which door will he show ?

(Assume Door A is Life Door, Door B is Death Door).

If Guard 1 Is the truth speaking guard, he knows his liar companion will always lie, so will tell him the truth and say his companion will ask him to open Door B.

If Guard 2 is the lie speaking guard, he knows his truthful companion will always tell the truth, so will tell him a lie and say his companion will ask him to open Door B.

Since both of them say "Door B" as the answer, it is evident the other door is the correct one. So the prisoner decides to open Door A and comes out alive.

Default Puzzle 2 Solution

Shalini,

Check this solution.

29 and 85 are the following sequence.

Derviation Formula

7*7 + 2*2 = 53
5*5 + 3*3 = 34
3*3 + 4*4 = 25
2*2 + 5*5 = 29
2*2 + 9*9 = 85
