Puzzle of the week - 20th Nov to 26th nov 2006

I am clapping so hard................ Can anyone hear me? ....Only 2 replies so far.......where are the rest 120 members or so who came here for a stroll........... No entry fee...... and no penalty for posting wrong answers............ Dont u people kill this thread...... by keeping mouna vratham ( Moun vrath for Heena's sake) . This sort of mounam makes me mourn yaar.......

Hats off.Very happy to see the puzzle. 2 moves,

let us assume

1 2 3- glasses full of water

4 5 6- empty glasses

it is arranged in the order of

1 2 3 4 5 6

interchange 3 and 4

so it becomes 1 move and

1 2 4 3 5 6

interchange 1 and 6

so it becomes 2nd move

which apears alternative like

6 2 4 3 5 1

therefore, it takes two moves

Solution is here

Switch on the first switch, leave it for a minute, and then switch it off again. Then switch on the second switch and enter the room. The second switch will be connected to the light that is on, the first switch will be connected to the light with the warm bulb, and the third switch will be connected to the light with the cold bulb.
