cleaning glass

Add about one tablespoon of cornstarch to lukewarm water. Wet and a rag , remove excessive water and wipe down glass as if using regular glass cleaner.
Dry with either a soft cloth or paper towel and be amazed.
This is great for both inside and outside glass cleaning.
Vehicle windows too!
Cleans the dirtiest windows in half the time

to keep the asafoetida (perunkayam) cakes soft.
keep one green chilly in the box in which u store asafoetida.
this will keep it soft. u can always change the chilly after a week
by using the chilly in some curry. u need not waste that also.

to clean the tiles on walls on the cooking area.
dip ur scrubber in kerosene and wipe the walls with it.
if the oil/grease is heavy on the walls, u can apply kerosene, soak for some time and then wipe with the scrubber. you can even use coconut fibre dipped in kerosene instead of plastic scribbers, which are inexpernsive and can be thrown away after use.

Hate the film that forms on the custard when u keep it to come to room temp before keeping in the fridge to cool. Sprinkle sugar on top of it. & cover.
