Its Proven now! Bhut Jolokia (ghost Chilli) is the world’s hottest chilli.
It is also known as Bih Jolokia and originates in Assam in North East India. It is the Guinness World Book Record Holder with an official Scoville heat rating (SHU) of 1,001,304, which has SHU twice that of the previous record holder, the Red Savina.
Until recently, fiery hot Red Savina Habaneros developed in Mexico -- with a rating of 350,000-580,000 SHUs -- was regarded the hottest chilli in the world. Later experiments by independent scientists showed that the pungency of the Bhut Jolakia chillies measured over a million SHUs. Hmmm..Chillies should be HOT...or should be flavored...What's your take? Have you ever had Bhut Jolokia?
Phew! Those are chillies???
I wonder how hot they are. Can you please tell in layman's term (other than the SHU) how hot it is? Are they really that big in size and is it available in other places as well outside Assam.
A lot of Questions..lol..but cheez hi kuch aisi hai...
