That may be because your thread title is "Crab Recipes" instead of "Crab Recipes?"

Anyways here is a crab recipe. It's Goan and called Crab Xacuti. I don't know if it is authentic as I got it from the net. I have tried it and liked it.

    Ingredients

    • Crabs 2
    • Dry red chillies 6
    • Coriander seeds 1 tbsp
    • Cumin seeds 1 tsp
    • Fenugreek seeds 1/2 tsp
    • Whole black peppercorns 1/2 tsp
    • Whole green cardamom 4
    • Whole cloves 1
    • Cinnamon stick 1"
    • White poppy seeds 2 tbsp
    • Freshly grated coconut 5 tbsp
    • Onions 2 medium, finely sliced
    • Turmeric powder 1 tsp
    • Vegetable oil 2 tbsp
    • Ghee 1 tbsp
    • Chopped garlic 2 tsp
    • Chopped ginger 2 tsp
    • Salt or to taste
    • Lime juice 2 tbsp
    Method

    1. Clean the crabs cut each into 2 if small, 4 if large.
    2. Remove stems from dry red chillies and soak in a little hot water to cover for 10 minutes.
    3. Dry roast the coriander seeds, cumin, fenugreek, peppercorns, cardamoms, cloves and cinnamon until fragrant.
    4. Roast the white poppy seeds until golden.
    5. Roast the coconut until quite dark brown.
    6. Finally roast the sliced onion until brown.
    7. Put all the roasted ingredients into a blender with the turmeric, dry red chillies and some of the soaking water. Blend to a smooth paste.
    8. In a heavy pan heat oil and ghee and fry the ground mixture on low heat, stirring constantly, until oil separates from the mass.
    9. Add the crab pieces, salt, lemon juice and just enough water to cover base of pan and prevent spices sticking.
    10. Cover and cook for 10 to 15 minutes, turning crab over in the spice mixture from time to time until crab shells are red. Add a little water if necessary but the gravy should be very thick and dark.
    11. Serve with plain steamed rice.

    Hi!

We are GSB from karnataka and since we come from a coastal region this is our authentic crab curry recipe.

You need to take these ingredients as per your convinience and quantity
No of crabs depends upon you and so that quantity would wary accordingly. Below recipe is for 4-6 crabs
    1 cup grated Fresh Coconut
7-8 byedgi chillies (dry red chillies ) fried in some oil
1-1 and half tsp spoon of coriander seeds fried in some oil
    Small ball of tamarind
    Pinch of salt
    1 small Onion Chopped finely
grind together all the ingredients above except for chopped onions. Grind the masala adding water little by little and grind into a smooth paste. Heat oil in a deep vessel, put oil and when it starts smoking put the chopped onion and fry till they start turning red. Add the crabs and stir a bit and add some water and let it cook. Dont cook the crabs fully, you can now add the ground masala paste and the water as per your required consistency, add salt to taste and bring it to a boil very nicely.
