Organ donation anybody?

What do you think of this idea of donating your functional organs to a hospital after your death?
Personally i have made up my mind to do so & have told my husband about it.
I have yet to register my name in a hospital for that.
If any of you know about any hospital in Chennai having this option,please let me know...........

When you go for your driver's license, they ask you if you are an organ donor- would you like to donate your organs and I have registered for that. It is good to know that someone else can benefit even after your death. Check with the Motor Vehicles registration. Also, whenever you go to the hospital, they ask you if you are an organ donor. You can try that too. I am glad you want to donate your organs for someone in need.

just saw ur message. A wonderful thought indeed. Have already registered for donating my eyes.When reading about the topic learnt that when a person donates their organs multiple lives are saved nearly twenty people get a second chance in life because of one donor. One individuals life could be saved because of the kidney and another life with a new heart or the liver and so on . It takes more than a n ordinary person to think of helping others even after they are gone . Ur thoughts are impressive.

I had enquired if anybody knows of a hospital in Chennai,India where you can register yourself for organ donation after your death.
None of the IL`ites have bothered to reply for this................which is really sad.

I know that Sai devotees volunteering for Sundaram foundation hospital in Chennai are involved in blood donation activities.They periodically give a call to willing donors to inform them about hospitals requiring blood donation...

Probably, you could approach some sai devotees volunteering for Sundaram foundation(or Sundaram foundation itself) to know if they register for organ donation also..

Kudos for your noble thoughts. Shankara nethralaya has options for your eye donation. But I do not have chennai number. You can check its website.

Nice that you started a thread. Its forcing me to think. I know a family friend who donated his eyes. The hospital came within 2 hrs and did the procedures. I always have this at the back of my mind but yet to get into action. Will seriously start working towards it now. Good thread my dear

I have requested organ donor designation in my drivers license, I need to get registered in my state registry.
