Tension in Panaji after seven-year-old raped in Goa school ---what is happening??

A seven-year-old girl was raped at her school in the port town of Vasco, resulting in huge protests here last night.

Police have detained the headmistress of the school on charges of negligence.
The second grade student was sexually abused in the school toilet next to the office of the headmistress during recess yesterday, by an unidentified person, police said today.

The incident came to light after the minor complained of pain and was referred for medical examination.

Several parents and locals protested outside the school last night questioning the negligence on the part of the school management. As the situation turned tense, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar visited the spot late last night assuring stern action against the accused.

"We will not spare the accused and anyone involved in this crime," Parrikar said, following which police detained the headmistress.

Police said the culprit is yet to be arrested. A sketch has been prepared based on the description provided by the victim, they said.

Incidentally, the school has been one of the well guarded institute with Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel posted at the gate.

Every day we come across a terrible news like this and it really hurts. Whats wrong I mean, after such a major incident of the Delhi gangrape, we though that it will be an eye-opener, but instead it seems as though there are more waiting to plunge into this well of nastiness

Its really painful to see all these atrocities recurring again & again...Were are we all heading towards?? No amount of revolution is actually helping...Imagine the state of that 7 yr old.. The pain she would be enduring...What the hell is our govt going to do this time?Really pathetic

THis is so revolting.. I just read in the newspaper now that a 7 yr old was raped in Jabalpur by a corporator 67 yrs old.. a grandfather and has 2 married daughters!!!.. this man visits the victims house.. he is a friend of the girl's father.. sees no one around but the girl and her younger brother sleeping and takes advantage and rapes the baby!!!
its as if "chalo, girl is unprotected.. lets have sex".. even if it means to rape a baby!!!"
