Who am I? - Part II

Hi All

I joined the community almost a month ago but have been too busy reading through the various posts so that I can get to know the community better

My name is Maria Sangeetha Padisetti. At home I am 'Geetha' and to everyone else since I was a kid I have been 'Maria'.

I live in Sydney, Australia with my husband and 8 year old son. My family left India for Dublin, Ireland when I was 2 years old and returned after 6 years. We left India again for New Zealand when I was 14. My dad never stays in one country for too long... Anyway, the years of my life that I spent in India helped me get an excellent foundation in terms of work ethic, family values and education. I was born in Chennai and am proud to say that I still speak excellent Tamil - thanks to my parents. My siblings on the other hand sound rather 'anglo saxon' when they attempt to speak the language.

I did a Bachelor of Engineering in E&E at the University of Auckland, New Zealand but switched to IT in my first real job after Uni. After working for a few years my husband and I started a business in 2002 in IT. We help businesses reduce their IT&T costs and also manage their IT for them. It has been one hell of a ride but worth it evey step of the way. It is a pity I can't add any attachments - I would have attached a PR piece that was done on our company and myself recently. It was done in the month of March for International Women's Day.

In the last couple of years I have started to appreciate India and my heritage more and more. I find myself looking for every opportunity to find a piece of India and incorporate it in everything that I do. Be it beauty regimes, finding business opportunities, going to Tamil movies etc....This is how I came across Indus Ladies and am really glad I joined. This is my way of keeping in touch with my roots. I smile any time I see a post that has a Tamil word in it - so please keep those coming!

Coming to me , am Dharani Reddy from Hyderabad..!! married one year back...!! yet to have kids..!! Am working for an MNC...!! Myself , my DH and my FIL stay here @home...MIL always stays in their village near chittore...!! she works as a teacher..!!
My FIL retired as a professor, and now doing part time jobs as Prof staying @hyd..!!
My DH working for an MNC too...!!

Pranam...myself is mrinalini 52 years old. Eventhough i joined this community earlier with my studies & my daughters marriage i couldn't keep up the phase.I took my PhD on Alternative medicine.Basically i"M an aromatherapist ,Reiki master.I do crystal healing & tarot card reading also.
Both my daughters are married & I'm staying in Kerala with my husband. I have been in govt service for 26 years & to take my Phd i took Voluntary retirement.Now I'm running a small alternative & aromatic clinic at home .
I believes in Reiki & wanted to share positive thoughts & gain from here.

I am dentist and have a board certification in Orofacial Pain. I am currently working towards my license to practice dentistry here in USA
I have been a frequent visitor to this site and I am particularly fond of Mrs Chitra Viswanathans entries on Religion and spirituality.
I am inspired by her `Ask ChitVish' forum and would like to start my forum "Ask ArchVisw". I encourage all the members to ask me questions about oral health and chronic pain complaints including headaches in the head and neck region. I will answer to the best of my ability.

Hi all

I am gayatri , currently housewife , was a software programmer but quit my job because of moving to US.I have a kid 3.5yrs old.Intially when I saw Indus Ladies I was only reading most of th posts.But slowly I thought I can reply too or suggest few things.

Today I do this on a daily basis and I hope it will help somebody atleast one day and teach me everything whatever I dnt know.
