Who Am I? - Part I

hey i am a student who just got out of school and found a job in Savannah,GA. I will be moving there in the last week of december. I have no acquaintances there and would like to know some of you. I am also looking for any girl who is willing to share an apt with me or anyone who are looking to take me in as a paying guest. It would be great if you all can help me find some accomodation.

Hi Charitha - welcome to IL. Why dont you make a post in the Indians in Georgia sub forum - you will definitely get more response making a post there - especially since you are looking for information about accomodation, etc. Good luck on your move!

I am an simple person, living a rich life of love and affection.Virginia(U.S) is my home now ( actually for the past 10 years).And yes my hubby is a software professional, we have 2 beautiful school going kids and our third miracle is trying to take his first foot steps.We live in a nice suburban neighborhood with wonderful people around.Nice to be a part of the Indus Ladies community.

Welcome friends - with three kids, you must be one busy mother & wife!! And you now you have found time to join us - as a mom who only child just went off to college, I can imagine how busy your everyday life must be - so, join us whenever you find the time - maybe to tell us about what your kids are up to or anything else that you want to discuss. glad to know that you are from Savannah,GA. i am a student who just completed her masters in mechanical engg. I will be moving to savannah in january on a project and am looking for someone who can help me find an accomodation. I am Janani Gopalakrishnan, a freelance writer based in Chennai, India. I was born in Calcutta (which explains my name) but all 23 years of my life have been spent here in Chennai where I schooled at PSBB, KK Nagar, then moved on to do my BCA from Stella Maris College, after which I completed PG degrees in Computer Applications, Business Administration and Journalism.

I enjoy this line of work because each assignment is different from the previous one, I get to interact with experts in several fields and it is a constant learning experience. And ofcourse I relish the advantages of working from home... I get to eat home food, work in a comfortable environment and do not have to miss any social functions!!

To tell you more about myself... I'm passionate about classical music. I also love to experiment with handicrafts, especially glass and pot painting. I am a very staunch vegetarian and love to cook, not only traditional dishes but also to experiment with new recipes in Indian and International cuisine.

I grew up and live in a joint family and love the environment. I enjoy the little pleasures in life... a visit to the temple, an hour spent listening to music, chatting with friends and relatives, a telephone call from my brother, sitting down to a home-cooked meal, a pizza brought home by my dad, a visit to the beach, a weekend trip... there's no end to life's little joys... I relish and value each of life's "kodak moments"!

I'm looking forward to interacting with each and every one of you and hope to enjoy my stay with IndusLadies.

can anyone tell me how to search for a savannah,georgia subform.it would be great if someone can walk me through the process.

You can go to the Forum tab -> Scroll down to "IndusLadies World" -> Under which you will find a category called "Indians in USA and Canada" ->Click on "Indians in Alabama/Georgia/Florida" -> then click on "Indians in Georgia"->Then on "Indians in Savannah". This is the sub forum for Savannah.

In fact, I think you have already found it as I saw a post from you in there.

You can also check the link under my signature on "how do I find people living in my city". Then send a PM to them. This would definitely put you in touch with people who are actually in Savannah.

Hi everybody, this is bliss 1. Sangeetha is my real name.

About Me.....

I hail from Dindigul, Tamilnadu. I was born on 22nd Sep, the first child of my lovely parents - father, a GP and mother, a home maker. We lived together with my grand parents, their siblings and had a very memorable childhood showered with love and care. I believe in " Live And Let Live".

Education......

Did my schooling in Dindigul with lots of friends around and merrying always. Did my BAMS in Ayurveda College,Coimbatore. College days were the best days of my life and I can proudly claim nobody else in my college would have enjoyed better than me !! Did my internship in Chennai and Bangalore.

Life....

My Best Half is Subramanian. He also hails from Dindigul. In fact our families have been friends for the last three generations. Had we already known that we would marry, atleast we could have fallen in love !! I still regret that v dint fall in love before marriage !! He is very loving, caring, understanding and supportive to the core. He is my best friend and both our friends compliment us that v have been the same old selves even after 6 years of marriage.

We have a 5 year old son Ramachandra (so far !!) who is in KG II. He is very talkative, naughty and v enjoy and cherish every moment spent with him.

Career Path.......

Completed my BAMS in 2001. Started my private practice in Dindigul and after marriage in Bangalore. Worked for FRLHT, a research foundation in Bangalore. Then worked as lecturer in Shankara Ayurveda College, Trichy.

In Doha since oct 2005. Unfortunately here Ayurveda is not recognised. Working for a Harward based website online apart from writing articles on Ayurveda, Yoga and Spirituality for some websites and translating an Ayurvedic book into English and Tamil. Taking Yoga classes here in Doha at Qatar Malayalee Samajam since April 2007. Feel bad and sad not able to practice here. Hoping for the best....

Few Things About Me....

I love reading ( almost anything that I could lay my hands on ), psychology, love pondering on anthropology, watching Tom and Jerry.

I believe that what I AM today is purely because of God's grace.

Coming to Doha I have put on 15 Kgs and now desperately trying to reduce with Yoga.

I'm a fun loving, humourous, adaptive and an easy going person with a contagious smile.

I make it a point to follow our tradition to the maximum extent possible without hurting others' ego.

I'm crazy about finger rings and ear rings.

So ILites, thats all about me !!
