    8 Ways to Get Rid of Gas!

    If you've been feeling overly gassy or you've been experiencing bloating and abdominal pain, a simple change in diet may help relieve your symptoms.


    Different foods produce different amounts of gas, which varies from person to person. The only way to know your own limits is through trial and error. These are some foods that cause gas:
    beans

    vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, brussels sprouts, onions, artichokes
    and asparagus

    fruits such as pears, apples, and peaches

    whole grains such as whole wheat and bran

    soft drinks and fruit drinks

    milk and milk products, such as cheese and ice cream

    packaged foods that have lactose (the primary sugar in milk) in them, such as bread,
    cereal, and salad dressing

    dietetic foods and sugar-free candies and gums

    If you try changing your diet and still have problems with gas, consult your physician. He or she may be able to prescribe medications that will reduce discomfort. :rotfl

    Well, its a very informative thread. But the products you mention here are hard to leave. I mean how long a persom can cease eating milk products, vegitables and drinks? At least I can't :)

    I learnt in my naturopath class that if vegetables/fruits soaked in water for abt 2-3 hrs, all the gas/burn causing elements gets flushed out! plus the pesticide and insectide gets removed too. I always soak them overnite. :cheers

    Swallowing a tsp of methi seeds with either plain water or buttermilk will relieve gas problem.It will take about half hour for it to become effective.

    hi,

    by hearsay, few suggestions....to relieve gas.

    1. early morning before our coffee, take one spoon of methi powder in a glass of hot water or in a buttermilk.

    2. in the morning before our coffee,take one or two garlic fry it in a pan without oil and take it with a pinch of salt and drink hot water.

    3. before going to bed (half an hour ) take one teaspoon of cumin powder with half a tumbler buttermilk. cumin powder is the best nature cure for all stomach problem.

    4. like cumin powder, you can take 1/2 spoon asiafoedita (perungayam) with half atumbler buttermilk, it will also release gas.

    i tried the above and got cured. please try ladies.
