    Dear Charumma,

    Butting in here. :)

A very good reply to Meera's query about Medical camp. Few pointers I would like to add (with your permission)

    1. Try to get some local politician/head of the village support.
    2. Also involve the local youngsters for controlling crowds/managing the crowd during breaks etc.
    3. Its better if you know the village and people well and vice versa, because the patients need to believe in your ability of giving treatment.
    4. make sure to give contacts at the end for continuation of treatment.
    5. Also refer them to other doctors/hospitals if needed but try not to send them to very famous/hospitals that charge too much. (People always are skeptical about anything free and that too medical treatment. They always will try to probe and doubt your genuine interest in human welfare. So also be prepared for it. don't be disheartened. This is from my experience)

    My My 2cents.

    Good day to you Charu!

    Hi Nimmisrinath,

As I havent seen ur father in person, I cant prescribe any medication. But following these home remedies willl help tremendously.

    1. Dry roast pepper, long pepper, dry ginger equal amounts seperately and powder into a fine powder. 2 gms (roughly half tbsp )of this mixed with honey twice a day half an hour after food will help bring out the phlegm.

    2. Always drinking warm water ll relive congestion.

    3. Steaming using a menthol balm once every ten to ffiteen days will prevent accumalation.

    4. Avoid taking prolonged head baths r baths and make it a quick affair.

    5. Always salt gargle before bed time as it ll clear throat of infection.

    7. Keeping ur head raised a lil will help to clear airways.

    8. Using balck pepper in cooking instead of red pepper ll also help.

    9. When throat feels irritatted eating a small piece of palm jaggery will help.

    10. Smoking haldi and breathing that air for few minutes will also help.

Try all this and get back to me.

    Good day Dr. CHaru

Iam a mother of 6 yr old girl residing in UAE. She has been suffering from dry skin eczema and persistent cold since 4 years. After her surgery of adenoids and typhoid she seemed better but her skin conditions remain. Her IGE test reads at 117 and TSH at 1.77; and she has been diagnosed to have allergy.

Altho she does not have any serious extent of skin or cold, it is always present. The hoemo doc, i met recently advised me that her body is pitha or heat body and if i dont treat her accordingly she could develop thryroid or PCOD. In fact, I myself have PCOD. She has asked me to refrain from all heaty food for her. Being a poor eater, I find it difficult to give her exactly what is required. I thought rather, i will compensate by giving her coolants. Could you pls advice me what are the coolants in indian food so that i could include them in her diet. Will it lead her to pneumonia ( as she had two attacks of pnemonia previously, before surgery)- too much cool stuff?

As for allergy, she has asked me not to give her egg, milk, soya milk, orange, chocolates, nuts, "all those foods with preservatives" etc. My MIL says that iam making the child weak b over protecting and not developping immunity in her. Is it correct. pls advice.

    Thank you
