Hello Sunkan,

I've used turmeric powder and channa flour since I've oily skin and have always found rashes on my skin immediately after washing it.It takes 1 1/2 to 2 hrs to reduce that.Hence stopped it.But will certainly try the other uses.Thanks for sharing these uses of turmeric.

The article is about Manjal and the picture is of Poosu manjal isn't it? I am not sure. It looks like it because I have seen and bought Kasturi manjal and that looks a bit different. :confused:

That too most of the properties you have given with that belongs to turmeric and can kasturi manjal also be used like that. Please do not mistake me. I am not trying to find fault in your article. I like to learn about these things. I want to know. That's why.

kasthuri manjal has an aroma which is very authentic and easy to find out, we get cut kasthuri manjal also, if you know kasthuri is the one given in vethalai pakku to all they say it is visesham because the yellow wont spread on clothes.. that is the beauty, and the smell is grt, giving u a nattupura smell on its own..sunkan

I have bought this cut manjal, powdered and used. I like it and almost regularly I use it.

Good one Sunkan! let me add that tumeric in a glass of hot milk daily before bedtime is just great. It helps you to sleep properly and aids healing of the throat and mouth.

Hello Sunkan,

Very interesting and important info you have given on Kasturi Manjal Tumeric. Is this totally different from Tumeric itself? In what form is this available and can this be easily purchased? I am visiting India in December and would really like to lay my hands on this wonderful product. I will be in Kerala. Can you please advise me as to where I can purchase this and what is the best form to get? I have tried to go around the Indian shops here in London but this is not available here. Also what exactly is Kasturi Manjal? Is it some ayurvedica medicine mixed with Tumeric? Sorry to sound so naive but I admit I do not have much knowledge about this.

All your help would be most appreciated.

Hi Sunkan,

Sorry, I am taking a bit of a liberty. Do you by any chance know of a remedy for under eye dark circles? My cousin is so run down with this problem that she is beginging to lose self confidence. She has tried several products, the latest one being Nomarks Cream (which claims to fade away all marks) - nothing seems to help.
