The legendary child prodigy Mandolin U.Srinivas passed away in Chennai this morning after a failed liver transplant. Many of my childhood years have been filled with his music, just watching him play with the beautiful camaraderie he shared with his co-artistes was sheer joy. He seemed to radiate a divine calmness when he was playing. I am deeply saddened by his death and it is a great loss to the world of music. He has collaborated with world renown musicians such as John McLaughlin, Zakir Hussain and the likes.... RIP :-( In his memory, one of my favorite thillanas - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zxzi7lXTlF0&feature=youtu.be

Humility personified: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrIepcMALCI I am not able to stop my tears. I can't believe that I will not be able to watch him play again.
