I am a big,big,big fan of the Maestro ,I request many of other Illayaraja fans to join this thread and let us recollect his best. There are innumerable bests, so everyone will say this song and this song and that one too........................

I am also a big fan of illayaraja.He is a genius.

I like all songs in Payanangal mudivadillai.He has given a cassette only with music(His popular songs).Too good.

We like to hear his songs while going long drives in car.

Illayaraja's Non-film compostions called geethanjali are too good. Then thiruvasagam also is too good.

The soft instrumentals of his famous songs is a pleasure to listen to...

Amazingly, he has used lot of ragas in his compositions. I like too many of his songs to list them..

I am also a big fan of Ilayaraja. He is really a genius. I am a kannadiga. He has composed many songs for kannada films also. I think his first composiiton in Kannada was for Maniratnam's debut movie "Pallavi Anupallavi" which starred Anil Kapoor (Hindi Actor). Even his was a debut movie.All the songs are great. They have been recently used for the hindi movie "Cheeni Kum".

I love to hear all his songs. They are evergreen melodies.
