Wow Shanti,

Both these songs are tooooo good,

Also Umrao Jaan's

Yeh kya jagah hai doston,
yeh kaun sa dayaar hai.
had-e- nigaah tak jahaan,
gubaar hi gubaar hai,

Tamaam umr ka hisaab
maangti hai zindagi,
yeh mera dil kahe to kya,
yeh khud se sharmsaar hai

Yeh kis makaam pe hayaat,
mujkho lek aagayee,
naa bas khushi pe hai jahaan,
na gam pe ikhtiyaar hai,

Bula raha hai kaun mujhko chilmanon ke us taraf,
mere liye bhi kya koi udaas bekaraar hai.

This song is touching....when Umrao Jaan meets her mother but cannot go back to her past life.......

I don't have an MP3 of this one Shanthi but I found a real cool link where you can hear a lot of ghazals from various singers and also find the meanings of these ghazals.

Check it out friends. I am sure you will love it -
Woh Kabhi Mil Jayen To « Ek Fankaar

I also love this one by Alisha Chinoy. It is a gem. It is soft, romantic and so simple yet so endearing. Check it out here -
YouTube - Tu Jo Mila( Alisha Chinoy)

I also like this duet by Roop Kumar Rathod (I think) -
Woh meri mohabbat ka guzaraa zamanaa

Another one I like is Mehdi Hassan's Mohabbat karne Waale Kam na honge.

Then there are a few from Lucky Ali's debut album "Sunoh". Not sure if they can be classified as ghazals though. I like a few in that album. But the ones I like the most are - Milegi Milegi manzil and Raat Chaandini Chaayi Hui Hai.

Oooh I love this ghazal. I had forgotten about it. Thanks for reminding me. I think it is from his album "Aahat". Infact I like all the ones you have mentioned.

This was sung by Salma AAgha. frm Film Nikha.....lovely lines...

Dil ke Armaan Aansoo'on main beh gaye,
Hum Wafa karke bhi tanha reh gayey,

Shayed unn ka aakhri ho yeh sitamm,
Har sitam yeh soch kr hum seh gaye,

Khudh ko bhi hum ne mitaa daalaa magar,
Faasle jo darmiyaan they bey gaye,

Zindagi ek pyaas bunn k reh gayii,
Dil ke kissey adhoorey reh gaye.

Meera,

There are sound recording and editing softwares..you need a sharp hearing and also passion for music..as it needs minute concentration and patience.

I learnt the art, as i wanted to convert my daughters (when she was 2 and 3) recordings which were in cassettes. that is how i got hooked..

MB,

I remember, one year, this was the favourite song in the singing competition at school. most of the girls tried to sing this song...brought back memories of school.

I love salma's voice...
