Ghazals lovers here???

Hi Shanthi,

I just recollected this one:

Woh bade khush naseeb hothe hain

I don't like rona dhona.. all romantic ghazals are my favourite.

I just ADORE ghazals.....especially Jagjit Singh's. I love listening to them, especially when I am driving alone.....that's the best way to enjoy them!

I love this one by Jagjit Singh...from the album 'Saher'....

" tere aaney ki jab khabar mehke....teri khusboo se sara ghar mehke......" one of the most romantic ghazals ever.

Yeas, you r right that its from Ghalib.....I am an ardent fan of him but I don't get many of his wordings, so have to follow dictionary.....

What a co-incidence...?!!!! I too have the same experience with my Hindi teacher like yours ... But I loved sarojioni,varma and harivamshrai bhachan's kavithas..and I started searching for more surdas,...too.
and like Grace's hubby, my hubby also doesn't know Hindi and so the meanings of the song lyrics...but, he will hum all the old songs very well... and he'has a good taste too...
regarding, ghazals-- I just LLLove..them.... normally,.. most of the ghazals will be slow...and I love pathos'...'Chitti aaye' is my fav.too...
Pankaj udas and Hari do good.... I like Vani Jayaram and Anuradha paudwal's too..
I recently started listening to- Aruna Sairam's... does she sing more ghazals...? any suggestion of her good ones...? her voice is unique...
(BTW Shanvi,... is this ur real name...? It sounds nice...)
