yes it is from sadma,lyricist is gulzar, singer is suresh wadkar..

I am a great lover of Ghazals great fan of Jagjit Singh, Chithra Singh, Roopkumar RAthod, Rajinder Singh and his wife, Hariharan, Penaz, Anoop Jalota etc.

I always buy tickets worth about Rs.1500~2000 online or buy in advance from the outlets to see my favourite singer Jagjit Singh "Live in Concert". He has such a voice quality that enthralls the audience. I have lots of his song collections. Most of his songs are my favorites..."Unforgettable" Album, special mention to his all time/any time hits "Aahista", "Teri Aankhon main hum ne", Tum Itna Jo Muskura.

Aahista

Sarakti jaaye hain rukh se naqaab aahista aahista
Nikalta aa raha hai aaftaab aahista aahista
[rukh=face, naqaab=veil, aaftaab=sun]

i dont know whether this falls under the category of ghazal or not...but there is this song by Jagjeeth Singh in the movie SARFAROSH

hosh waaalon dekho zindageee kyaa cheez hain .....a slow one..i really love it

That is a very beautiful song.you can definitely say it is a ghazal (oh let us not keep it too traditional..)

Hi,
I also listen to ghazals a lot and a big fan of Jagjit Sing and Chitra Singh. I also like to learn the art of singing ghazals and nazms (and semi-classical songs). Can anyone recommend a good ghazal teacher in PJ/KL ?

I think you should try the singapore subforum, for finding if there are teachers there. and welcome to this thread..

Arent they eternal favourites of all ghazal lovers...
