Dear meena & Shanthi,
Thanks a lot for bringing up this thread. Just happened to see this today and I am really interested. You both are doing a great job by giving the informations abut the songs too. I would try to hear these songs after I go home today. My daughter kaaviya, who is 21 months old is fond of songs and she wants me to play songs for her all the time.. Thanks again for sharing with us.

Thanks,

Dear meena & shanti

Thank you meena by starting such a nice thread. I am very much interested in music. Nice to learn some of the songs.

Shanti. thank you very much you too for giving many more information and various links for nice songs but it is my suggestion that please give some songs or bhajans in kannada by purandaradasa or any other compostions through various links so I can learn from it.

Dear Meena,
Thanks for your engouragement. I just sing to my daughter some simple songs which I have learnt from my mom during my school days. To start with I am giving the lyrics of "vinaayaganae vinai theerpavanae " song about Lord Vinayagar. I am not sure about the composer, raaga of this song...

vinaayaganae vinai theerpavanae
vezha mugathonae jnana mudhalvanae (vinaayaganae )

gunanidhiye guruvae charanam
kuraigal kalaiya ithuve tharunam (vinaayaganae)

umapadhiye ulagam endrai
oru sutrinile valamum vandhaai
gana-naadhane maankaniyai Undaai
kadhirvelavanin karuthil nindrai (vinaayaganae)

Thanks,
Priya
