HI all,
I too luv musix and interested to learn. I'd like to know how to convert tape casettes to mp3 cds. I want to know some sites fr where we can down load carnatic music.

Dear banu,

If you mean you have slokams, you can post them here and also post the copy of the audio in teh same way that has been described here.

Welcome. Tapes can be converted to mp3 through recording on a audio recorder through a line in jack from your tape player to the pc. then editing and the finally converting them to mp3. it is a very long procedure for which you need to have the patience and passion..

you can get lot of songs uploaded to a mail id mentioned in this thread. if you have any specific song do request will upload if we do have...

Congrats on your baby. how are you now. what have you named here...

Do learn and also sing/play the same to her. my Daughter used to sleep listening to songs from a month old without any assistance..what being in a joint family..did not have much time for her then...but it was god send, so i cannot crib on that now...

will check if i have the mp3 and post it. i have a cassette of sri suktham by a ex-colleague of veda.. let me see if i can get that also..

i saw in one of your posts that you converts audio cassetes to MP3, could you please tell how do you do it and what software is requd.
please be specific, as it will help me do a lot of give away as i have so many cassettes , that i dont know, how do i manage them now........
