A disciple of Sudha handling, subhapanthuvarali is not surprising at all...Sudha is know for mastery over that...sri satyanarayanam, and aynkara (santhanalakshmi of the ashtalakshmi stotra) are what she has been singing very frequently for the past 3/4 years....

Today was sanjay subramanian' kutchery on jaya tv
I love his style of singing....it grows on you over a period...
and his voice control at high pitches is amazing...

His theme was tamil songs of there composers under the banner tamil mummurthigal..they were Maarimuthu Pillai, Muthuthandavar and Arunachala Kavi rayar.

One more word of appreciation, sanjay gave the ragas and the details of the composer at the end..which was very useful to lot of people...

Today had the opportunity of hearing glimpses of the concert held on 24/12 at MFAC (mylapore fine arts) by Vasundhara Rajagopal...

One more good upcoming artist.her voice is good, and she sings with clarity.....only two songs were aired
one was an rtp and the other an bajan.

1. Enduko nee manasu - kalyani - tyagayya..(RTP)
(I always thought priya sisters did the best to this song in the initial days of their career,now have to add her to my list)
2.Jaagey siv more m ukut - suddha saveri - meera bhajan.

All yesterday, it was Aruna Sairam, Arupadaiveedu thematic concert which had got beautiful reviews from hindu..

I really loved the concert, and she definitely knows the audience pulse, you can feel her pulling in her audience in Q&A session...

I have listed the songs....but some I don't know the composer and in some I might have made a mistake in identifying the raaga...
so if there are any mistakes please feel free to correct...

(Why I have this doubt is because The Hindu review gave out the names of the ragas different...and after recollecting and referring found that the person who reviewed just took the raga names from her cassette titled Arupadaiveedu and listed it....sometimes making too much confusion for kelvignanams')

Hi all could not post my observations as I missed some inbettern...

Nityashree Mahadevan, as usual well decked, and she talked a lot about her 1st concert, her patti and all....

Her theme was Kannanum Kandanum
So as it suggests, it was a between the two..but her choice of songs were good..i have heard them before..but would have loved to know the composer of few.....

8. Abhishekaprian karthikeyan Alangara Priyan kannan- Shanmugapriya + mohanam- composer (could it be her mother?? who is also a composer)
(the highlight of this song is the mixing of both kandan and kannan..and where kandan was referred it was shanmugapriya and where it was kannan it was mohanam..and she handled it well..)

Got to hear a recording of ...Adyar Lakshmanan...his voice has lost the sheen...because of age..but you can learn a lot about presentation, the ragams from people like him..and it is a treasure....

The music season is fast approaching..with kutcheries lined at the music academy, I would love to go for the one on november 20, TM Krishna and Bombay Jayashree, but not possible....
