Default KG2 Syllabus?

I am contemplating a shift.

The hardest part of this decision is the education of my kid. Even though she's in KG, it worries me.

Could someone help me out? She began her KG2 session in April '09 (CBSE), & in case we do shift, we'll do so most probably in July.

In KG1, she was taught capital letters in her school, where as other school had done small letters. Apart from that, writing numbers from 1-10, some sight words, basic colours, etc were taught. This has further confused me about what is the syllabus in India Anything more important taught in KG1 already?

Anything I miss from the syllabus in India, I have to teach my kid on my own. So, could someone brief me about the syllabus which is taught in KG2, both CBSE & ICSE syllabus?

I guess not many people must have seen this thread to reply.... but thanks Zeenat for your reply.

Actually our shift is not certain. But I am trying to lay the grounds... knowing about what has been covered by both CBSE & ICSE schools in Mumbai.

I favour CBSE & have heard from a few kids that ICSE is a lot of pressure on the kids. Earlier I had gone to Ryan International, Nerul, for admissions. But they follow ICSE. Now I am confused about which is better.

If it's not a problem, then could I know the syllabus for both KG1 & KG2, in both CBSE & ICSE syllabus? (To know what was already covered & what will be covered).

PS: I replied last night, but somehow it hadn't been posted here.

hi JustAni,
actually i will be visiting schools when i go to mumbai. as i also prefer knowing whats syllabus covered there in CBSE and ICSE schools. then accordingly ill admit my LO here in a CBSE or ICSE school. so if its really urgent then ill ask my sis to find out, if not then i can very well give you fb after i personally visit some schools.

regarding pressure in studies, i guess both are same not much difference unlike O-levels which is much easy as compared to CBSE and ICSE. my niece was in DPS here but when the whole family shifted to mumbai, she was admitted to a ICSE school and didnt have any problem. Ryan International is a very nice school and i think one new school has opened in mumbai also. your concerns are so very much like mine but its just that your daughter has already started to go to school and im worried, about which school and which syllabus to put her in. i dont even have any idea about neither CBSE nor ICSE so cant even favor any. so im hoping to go and get all my dobts clear after visiting some godd schools in mumbai.

so let me know if you need the information now, or you can wait till i go. im going on 10th june. whenever i will visit any school i will post the feed back in this thread.

Thanks Zeenat.

I am heading to Mumbai for my vacations too. I had to write down my agenda for the trip - top priority for "Visits to school" .

I'll be travelling by the 2nd week of July.

I guess... once you narrow down your choice of syllabus, finding a school is a little easy. Deciding is the hard part.

Either ways, it's fine with me.

As & when you have the time, you can post your feedback.
