Great News for Mumbaites
MMRDA has decided to decongest the traffic woes that lakhs of motorists are facing incessantly. The three new projects to take its shape are:
1. There will be Rail Over Bridge at Milan Subway. We are aware that Milan Subway is submerged in water for more than decades during monsonn creating paralyzing traffic movement in the western suburbs. Santacruz East and West will get connected by this new bridge and it will make the traffic movement easier. The project is estimated to approx 41.50 crore and is supposed to be completed in 1.5 years. The project includes construction of two carriageways of two lanes each, RCC desk slab, reinforced earth wall to approaches and laying of I-type girders.
2. Sahar Road will be elevated for a fast approach to Chhatrapathi Shivaji International Airport and connectivity from Western Express Highway to the airport. The cost of the project is approx 287.37 crore and will take atleast two years for completion. The project includes construction of two carriageways of three lanes each with vehicular and pedestrian subways. The length of the strength would be 1.8 kms and a tunnel of 165 m. It will have a single-cell box girder system with segmental construction.
3. An Eastern Freeway will be constructed which will not only falicitate to and fro movement of goods from the Bombay Port Trust but will also have direct connectivity to the new Chhatrapathi Shivaji Terminus Station. The project will provide a high speed corridor of 22kms length from Prince of Wales Musuem passing through Shahid Bhaghat Singh Marg and Wadi Bundar on P.D’Mello Road and will enter the MbpT area to join Eastern Express Highway to via Anik Panjrapol Link road. It improves the existing road and a four lane elevated 9km road will be constructed. This project will cost approx Rs.531 Crore and is expected to be completed in three years.
Isn’t that great news for Mubaites!!!!!! Let us keep our fingers crossed for the project to start and complete within the given time.
