| 1. The Railway Station Climax. This is used most often to unite parted lovers. Example: Kaadal Kottai 2. The Hospital Climax. Usually the heroine/hero consumes poison, or else they'll be caught in an accident and then get admitted to the hospital. Without exception, they will lapse into a coma, giving the hero/heroin an opportunity to implore the patient to "open your eyes, my love!!" Example: Alai Payuthey 3. The Hero Goes to Jail Climax. Often, the hero will kill the villain who raped/tried to rape the heroine, and then be sent to jail for the villain's murder. Example: Mahanadhi, Devar Magan etc. 4. The Court Climax. Usually, the hero will be a Robin Hood, doing all sorts of unlawful activities for good causes. Example: Gentleman 5. The Hero/Heroine Dies Climax. During the 1980s, the directors would kill both the hero and heroine to elicit a wave of sympathy from the audience. However, audiences nowadays want a happier ending. If the hero is a redeemed villain, he must die at the end of the movie. If the hero is somewhat elderly, and has already lost his wife or lover, and particularly if there is a younger pair of lovers in the film, he will unite them and in the process get killed by the villain. Example: Nayagan 6. The most recent climax. Hero will frantically search the missing heroin and find her dead and buried or buried alive. Example: Kakka Kakka, Vettai aadu Vilai aadu

| That is so true. hilarious to read, though.I guess you missed out the famous "Subham" climax. All is well that ends well types. Eg : Most of the old films, to recent ones. My patti used to find it so frustrating to watch a film end with a question mark. Like most of KB films, leave it to the audience to decide the ending - she is like, : enan edhu, oru mudivu ellama..." ( Whts this, without a end?). Also, the famouse climax of today's films - the hero talks, for about 5 minutes, and the villam who was bad for 2 hours and 55 minutes suddenly turns into a new leaf and becomes a good father in law/man/business partner etc!!

| Hi, Nice thread. I have few more added to the above: 1. Bomb Diffusing Climax : Hero and the supporting hero trying to diffuse a bomb where the heroine has been tied up by the villain group after a long gap. Sitting and thinking which wire to cut either the yellow or red ![]() 2. Long Chasing Climax : A very long chasing climax in the hair pin bends of our hill stations or ending up in the quarry or mountain, either in a humorous or a serious fight. 3. Fight in Godown: The heroine or one of the double action hero would have trapped by the villain, again the same old trick to help them 4. Romantic Climax: Say the hero and heroine finally getting married and closing the doors of their bedroom with one good song of the movie. 5. Turning both the hero and the audience into madness : Off late the trend is turning the hero speechless due to the gory murder or suicide of the heroine. |
