Krrish , Phir Hera-Pheri --- Setting trend of Bollywood Movie Sequels

With the box-office success of Phir Hera Pheri and Krrish, now every other director is making sequel of past hits. Either Sequels of Remakes like Devdas. There are tonnes of movies in queue with film remakes like superhit Sholay, Don etc.

I wonder how do these directors hope for the success of remakes? Will Shahrukh Khan ever be able to match Amitabh Bachan in Don? No way!!! Amitabh's style, his voice, his acting, all are just unmatchable. Where will they bring Helen to do item numbers and where will they bring Kalyanji Anandji and Indeevar for the Khaiyke Paan Banaras waala song. That music is evergreen!

Yeah, it is due to this remake of Amitabh Bachan's super-duper hit movie Don that Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachan are not at so good terms with each other. Amitabh Bachan does not appreciate the remake of the masterpiece Don and that too with Shahrukh Khan. Probably Amitabh Bachan sees no match of Shahrukh Khan with Don!

I just remembered they are also planning to remake the classical movie of Dev Anand Guide ! Wow...it was brilliant movie and my favorite. With Waheeda Rehman dances and Devanand sytle acting, there can be no remake as good as original Guide. Dev Anand is right when he says "Guide cannot be remade"

I wonder why everyoneis into this Remake of old hits.....its going to be boring and then we will tend to sit and compare only and not really appreciate the efforts on the new remake!
Just read that Kareena is going to the female role of SRK in Darr....a negative one and i really wonder if it is going to be that good!
I guess there are no more story tellers , and we will be saddled with old rehashes for some time....

Wow....Remake of Darr and that too female version sounds good. Kareena kapoor in the cast might not be the best of coice but we can wait and watch. Shahrukh Khan was brilliant in Darr!

I too am surprised why Bollywood is getting into this remake trend so suddenly. If they remake of past hit movies viewers are surely to compare between the two. If they are out of stories why dont they remake the flop movies. If they really have skills, they can prove that by remaking a flop bollywood movie to make it a hit now!

Do you know Ram Gopal Verma is remaking Sholay. Sholay is the number 1 movie till date in Indian film history. Its great movie from all angles, be it music, dialogues, starcast, camerawork, cinematography, comedy or direction. I wish he does justice to old Sholay in his new remake.

Guess who is playing Gabbar Singh in this remake???

Yes, It's the legendary Amitabh Bachan acting as Gabbar Singh in RamGopal Verma's Sholay. His getup is recently revealed and unlike the natural dirty looks of Original Gabbar, Amitabh is worked on for his getup with makup and clothes to look dirty. I still liked the original Gabbar look with belt in hand and a shirt-pant attire. No show-off to look dirty, just a couple of black tooth while laughing did wonders

Ready to release Don where Shahrukh Khan plays Don is all set. The huge promotions will definitely pull the initiall crowd. I wish luck to this new Don and hope it is good as older version of Don.
I also wish all the luck to new Sholay version. I am not sure if it wil have all the elements of classic Sholay but lets wait and keep fingers crossed!

Don is all set to release on 20th October (Diwali occassion). Despite big hype and promos, I am not very excited to see this remake of Don. For one reason, the last movie I saw of Shahrukh Khan was Kabhi Alvida Na Keha and that is one movie I regret wasting my money on. Other reason is that I dont feel, Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Kareena kapoor have capability to create charisma of Amitabh Bachchan, Jeenat aman and Helen. Do you feel Don is worth going and watching??? I will love to get your opinion on this.
