Nice thread LotusAura. I am sure there will be more movies if I think of it, but as soon as I read your post, the movies that came to my mind were:
Taare Zameen Par
3 idiots
Roja
Madrasapatinam
The Notebook

These are the movies that stayed on my mind for sometime after watching. Favorite movies are another story though.

Hi LotusAura,

I liked watching Sweet Home Alabama, Catch me if you can, Inception. Funny, I cannot remember any Bollywood movie of recent times that stayed on for a while.

That's a nice list chillbreeze! I loved TZP, 3 Idiots & Roja too. The Notebook was nice, but I liked the book better.

My list would be:

ET - When I was very young, I would keep looking out for my own ET to come!

The Shawshank Redemption - The characters stayed with me very long after the movie was over. It is still on my list of Top 10 all time faves.

Kramer Vs Kramer - The end of the movie still gives me goosebumps.

The Godfather (Part 1) - Made such a deep impact, I still remember the dialogues..and my ringtone for a long time was its theme music

Forrest Gump - Unforgettable!

Sholay - Can't beat that in my list! I would talk like Basanti for a long time, while my cousins were Jai & Veeru

Kagaz ke Phool - For some awesome mature romance

Guide - My permanent Top 10 entry, love everything about the movie; not a single fault, flawless.

Pretty Woman - Ultimate in pop romance, I kept day dreaming & drooling over Richard Gere long after the movie...I still do!

When I read the title, several movies popped into my head.

The cinematography of the Lord of the Rings still stays with me.
Sound of Music is a huge favourite simply for the music if nothing else.
The Shawshank Redemption again is such a fantastic movie as is The Great Escape.
To Kill a Mocking Bird moves me every time I see it.
The Roman Holiday is the ultimate coming of age movie where the ending is realistic.

Shrek I and II helped me look beyond the stereotypes.

I find the Tamil movies Oram Po, Neram, SoodhuKavvum very bold ventures, and entertaining regardless of how many times I watch them.

If there one movie and the only movie I can pick, it would be:

Shawshank Redemption

A movie about struggle, hope, redemption, an innocent man wronged, friendship, and what not.

I am out of words on how to describe this movie. I can't put any other movie near it, for it will reduce the shine from this.

Ironically, this movie never leaves the top 10 movies ever made in the IMDB. Currently at #1 again.
