    Maduve Mane – Review

The pre-talk before the release of Maduve Mane was that the movie would be next Mungaru Male and it would give relief to Ganesh's sagging career. However, the movie starts off promisingly but ends unconvincingly. The poor script written by director himself has played the spoilsport thereby giving yet another blow to the Golden Star.

Suraj (Ganesh) meets a bride named Suma (Shraddha Arya) in a train and falls instantly for her. From the word go, he impresses her family with his tricks but keeps on irritating her with his love proposal. It goes without saying that he easily makes to her wedding along with them. But he does not get the desired results, as she is adamant about her choice, who is an encounter specialist. The story gets a twist by the end of first half, as Suma's beau sends her with him. In the second part, there lies quite a few twists and an unexpected one in the penultimate scene.

The first half of the movie is entertaining. Sharan, Tabala Naani along with Ganesh make it an interesting affair with their witty liners. Indeed, the scenes between Ganesh and Shraddha Arya are good in the first half even though it is not new in the Golden Star's movies. However, the second half becomes a nightmare, as the audience would wonder where the story was heading. The boring narration and illogical scenes test the viewers' patience. Though, some twists come as a surprising element, the connectivity factor disappoints the fans.

Maduve Mane completly relies on Ganesh's ability. The role is tailor-made for him and he has done complete justice to his character. Shraddha Arya is lookalike of Pooja Gandhi and she is okay. Sharan and Tabala Nani have given their usual best to their roles. Rest other characters are good in their limited roles.

Technically, Shekar Chandra's cinematography is good but the biggest drawback of the film is Manikanth Kadri's music. It fails completely to evoke any feeling from the audience. Director Sunilkumar Singh, who has also penned the dialogues, should be patted in only that department. Though he successfully manages to entertain the audience in the first half, he has miserably lost control on the script in the second. Had he taken some more time to write the screenplay, Maduve Mane might have been a different product.

Cast: Ganesh, Shraddha Arya, Sharan, Tabala Naani, and others
    Director: Sunilkumar Singh
    Music Director: Manikanth Kadri
    Cinematography: Shekar Chandra

    Paramathma - Review:

Yogaraj Bhat is the one Kannada filmmaker, who has rightly understood how to hold the attention of the viewers. For this filmmaker, movie means entertainment and he provides it 100% to the audience and he hardly worries about the story and messages. But viewers might find small messages in his films. His latest movie Paramathma for which he has teamed up Puneet Rajkumar, is not an exception to his way of filmmaking.

Paramathma is a romantic movie it is nothing but a new version of his previous movie Pancharangi, which does not have a great story. But it is very high on entertainment values. What make you love the movie are Puneet Rajkumar's performance, Yogaraj's brilliant narration, V Harikrishna's trendy music, Santhosh Pathaje's wonderful camerawork. Rangayan Raghu's comedy timing, Ravi Verma and Different Danny's stunts, beautiful locations, costumes, artwork and dance, etc.

The story of Paramathma revolves around a multifaceted young boy, who accidentally falls for a girl and chases her to find her love. The movie runs on a flashback mode. If you want a message, Paramathma surely has it and it is nothing but heart is god and god is there in every one's heart. The movie also takes on the low-grade filmmaking in sequence.

Param (Puneeth Rajakumar) is a gold medal in B.Sc in 2002-2003 and he is expert in six different fields like climbing hills, Mumbai Share market, windmill, carpentry and Kung Fu. He has a gang of friends (Aindrita Ray, Ramya Barna, Smitha and few others) Sanvi (Aindrita) and Pavithra (Ramya Barna), who is a lecturer, are in love with him. But he accidentally falls in love with Deepa (Deepa Sannidhi), who is expert in playing different musical instruments, and he runs after her to her village to find her love. Ultimately whom he marries will form an interesting portion, which should be watched on screen.

Before writing something about the performance of the lead actors, let me tell you something about the heroes in Yogaraj Bhat's movies. The nature of Yogaraj's heroes is usually loose, childish, innocent and humours on the surface level, but at the core, they look like philosophers. They talk and act in loose and funny way, but they will be spiritualistic in meaning at the deeper level, which many viewers fail to enjoy.

Actors like Ganesh and Diganth have played heroes in Yogaraj's previous films and they were at their best. When it comes hero role in Paramathma, Puneet Rajkumar, who is No. 1 actor in Kannada film industry, is not a better choice for it. Somewhere Puneet seems to be lacking something to suit it. That does not mean that he has not performed well. Of course! He has done well and he is the showman. He rocks the audience in dance and action scenes.

Although Deepa has been promoted as the heroine of the film Paramathma, another actress Aindrita shares equal screen space with her and both of them have lived up to their roles. Rangayana Raghu's comedy is fresh and different and Dattanna Raju Talikote also add spice to his timings. As hero and heroine's fathers, Ananth Nag and Avinash have done wonderful job. Others have also done a good performance.

The rich production values are also a major highlight of Paramathma. V Harikrishna's music might remind you of Jackie music, but his compositions are trendy, funny and melodious. All songs ooze a little amount of freshness also. Jayanth Kaikini and Yogaraj Bhat's lyrics are trendy, but except one song, they look like meaningful prose works.

Many Kannada filmmakers are addicted to visit foreign country to find beautiful locations, but Yogaraj Bhat has shown the world that Karnataka has many breath-taking beautiful locations. He has proved it once again in Paramathma. Adding to this, Santosh Rai Pathaje has done a brilliant camerawork and there are no words to describe his work. Art direction, costumes and choreography of dance and fights also add spice to the movie.

There are several loopholes, which can be ignored except one that is the death of the heroine, who dies without any reason. The idea behind this scene is good, but the director should have established it in a very convincing way. Overall, Paramathma is a superb entertainer, which is a best treat from Puneet and Yogaraj for Kannada audience this Dassara. Don't miss it.

    Director: Yogaraj Bhat
Cast: Puneet Rajkumar, Deepa Sannidhi, Aindrita Ray, Ananth Nag, Avinash, Dattanna, Rangayana Raghu
