    Hi Porrnima,

Any reason why you are going for HDFC SIP? There are SIPs offered by many other companies. Please do have a look and weigh pros and cons before finalizing a particular SIP.

DO NOT go by the 6%, 10% isllustrations given by the banks/financial institutions. They do it due to the SEBI and RBI regulations which makes it mandatory for them to give the illustrations at 6% and 10%. Be sure to read the fine print thoroughly. Many of them give such disclaimers.

Disclaimer: The illustration above is merely indicative in nature and should not be construed as investment advice. It does not in any manner imply or suggest performance of any HDFC Mutual Fund Scheme(s). Please read Risk Factors.

    [Hi
I just read your column ,Can you can go for RS 5000rs SIP
EVne I have done it but my suggestion would be please spilt up into 3 or 4 funds to cover your risk,HDFC equity and growth funds are doing good ,and DSP tiger fund is really good.
Look into moneycontrol.com for more research and data .
You will atleast get 20 % returns ,but need to invest for a year or more to reap he returns
    Cheers

Re: Systematic Investment Plan - SIP

    Hi,

Can anyone please tell me the difference between SIP and ULIP? What is the minimum amount to invest in those plans? I stay in USA and I am planning to invest in small amounts at the beginning in India and then increase it seeing the returns? Can anyone suggest me the good plans and companies pls?

    Thanks

Re: Systematic Investment Plan - SIP

PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM ULIP. ULIP combines both insurance and investment, may looking attractive but returns are very poor. I would suggest you to invest 75% in stocks and 25% in mutual fund.

    Thanks,
    Happy and safe investing!!!:thumbsup

    Good financial consultant in Pune

    Hi Ladies,
Is anybody aware of any good financial consultants in Pune, maharashtra?

I am looking for one who can analyse our (DH and me) total income portfolio, our expenditure/liablity, current investments and then suggest suitable investment options considering the inflation rate, our retirement age and needs at that time.

We do not want consultants from firms (e.g. Kotak, HDFC etc) as they would do self-selling than giving unbiased opinions.

    Any references would be appreciated.

PS: Also, does anybody have an idea of the average consultation fees charged by such professionals?

    ~S.
