| Hi, I had to come back from my recuperation, just to say, to those who have recently put money in the stock market, do not panic. The market from a whopping almost 20k is looking southwards almost at 10200 as i write this. If you have the money, that you can invest and forget, you can definitely buy strong scripts right now. if you are scared of what is going to happen, just relax, do not open your demat account for the next few months. the trend could be the same for a year or more. As no back up plans are working anywhere in the global market, with All central banks around the globe cutting there CRR, is not helping, this is time to keep cool and also keep your trust on your decisions intact. Invest with care.

| hi all, how are you all faring, with the markets. After the traumatising pre diwali indices, the markets are looking better at 9000 today. according to some analyst, the downwards spiral is almost over...but i am still keeping my fingers crossed as there was a forecast by few that the market could touch 7k. Though some good stocks are looking so lucrative, say for example ABB at 560, suzlon at 46, and many more...i am sitting in the sidelines, not wanting to take any risk as an investor. Some of my stocks have been battered and are down under, but are fundamentally very strong, so keeping my hopes up, that things will be better... so what are your experiences...

| Hi Shanvy, Watched the Blood bath and sitting tight.Got no guts to re-enter. Even Warren buffet lost almost 7% on his new investments done on oct 17th.. (his public call to buy U.S. stocks now) After that Wall street dropped further. So people argue that Buffett Is Wrong: The Market Madness Is Still Far From Over.

| hi sudha, I don't watch my portfolio right now.. there was this man on cnn/ibn who had a portfolio of 16 lacs which is just worth 3/4 lacs now..it is really bad... there is a counselling cell specially opened for the people who lost money in the market The downward plunge has left lot of people losing sleep.... I have a friend, who has cashed most of his portfolio just before the crash...lucky guy...

| Yes Shanvy, I too heard the stories of many losers and was feeling very down. Many families colapsed already. My DH planning to re-invest , but i am very worried. You already know that we lost most of our savings during first half of 2008 because of playing derivatives. When we decided to invest in equities, the financial crisis happened. So now stocks has become a nightmare for me. I know that many blue chips are now available in throw away prices..still ![]()

| One of my friends, advised me, shanthi, keep still, the market looks lucrative, but short trading will kill the investors more... i think he has a point but i still believe if your scrip is strong, it will surface better... there were only few scrips that have not been battered... If you are too confused, pick up some strong scrips, buy and forget for the next 2/3 years...there will not be much profits till then i feel...

| Dear Shanvy, I agree with you. We are planning to buy in near future (may be in jan 09) and hold it for a few years. Actually looking for some fundamentally good stocks whose cmp have gone below the book value during the recent downfall.
