Hi,
Let me share what i feel.....

Apart from minimum balance(if you wish to do inonline)if you have 10-15k(Indian)i think it gives you good chances to select mid cap shares and more small cap shares.. Again it purely depends on your capacity.

My tip is try to get more smallcap shares in large quantity to see goodprofit.Eg 10-12Rs in 200-300 quantitiy,when even it increases in paise, it gives you a good shape in your profit portfolio..Its my personel experience.

First try to invest some portion for emergency purpose. Once you get confident in trading concept, i'm sure you can see nice profit in trading.

When you don't find much time to look after trading and avoid high risk, its better to go for Mutual funds.

Pleas check down the link where they explain "HOW DO MUTUAL FUNDS WORKS??"
Howstuffworks "How do mutual funds work?"

BASICS OF MUTUAL FUNDS:
ICICIdirect.com :: Mutual Funds :: Mutual Funds FAQ

Regards,
USHA.

[quote=gokusha;60814]Hi ,
For those who do not want to take too much risk, Mutual Fund is the best to invest money. Reliance, SBI, ICICI, Birla and almost all the top companies are trading in MF. We can get information about MF in money contol .com .Experts give their opinion and a ranking of the funds also published daily. The top ranking funds and best funds to buy are all published and we could analyse and invest.
Best of luck!

The Dow is off today as well - has been a bad week here. I am holding tight for now - since I am in investing for long term. If there are some value stocks out there - this may be a good time to buy. . I will have to think about what I want to do next.

Yes, Shobana, Market is pretty pathetic 3 weeks in a row. even I am holding tight my feeling is it could be like this for quite few days because all of these banking problems. Hope to see in green pretty quickly...

The market is in a correction mode right now - unfortunately, I dont think we are going to see any huge upswings - it may be a slow recovery - so, hold tight - we are in a rocky patch!

The market is making a slight recovery this morning - seeing more green than red! Hold tight ladies - it will be a slow recovery!
