I guess we Indians have this stigma that if we look at cost savings/use coupons, we feel and look at it as cheap...

However My motto...save for the rainy day...human wants and needs are unlimited...and we have much higher goals (like owning a home either in US/ India..and childrens education, retirement planning , health and life insurance..) every drop counts...however everything in moderation works great (as said by chocolate)

Maybe I am "cheap" because

1. I never buy anything that's not on sale, especially at the grocery store.
2. I buy in bulk when on sale
3. I do buy clothes at walmart, recently they have come out with some fashionable tops that look good on me and are very comfortable, durable and stylish
4. I walked out of the car showroom when they would not budge at my price. 3 days later they called me to come and pick up the car

One more thing I do is shop online whenever they have free shipping. california has 9.75% sales tax and many places such as amazon and diapers.com will not charge you sales tax.

See this is what I was pointing to....You are Not cheap...you save money in one section...so taht you can spend in another section..(i.e spending on your kid..)

We all have our priorities...I am very conscious still in using store coupons etc...but after I saw few of my friends and relatives I realised, whats the point in spending 5$ when the same you can get for 3$ by using a coupon.

May be I should cut down some more looks like or may be carry the coupons that I'm receiving rather than keeping it for decoration
