Question Is investing in Gold better than investing in shares?

Hi gals,

I am a bit confused and apprehensive about investments. I want to know whether I should invest in gold or share market. Kindly give me your advice and experience about it.

Regards,
Nainika

Historically, gold has been able to fetch 8% returns over a period of time.

Depending on your profit goal, you can decide accordingly.

thanks,

Rule no.1. Never put all your eggs in one basket. Invest in gold/ETFs/real-estate/stocks/FDs etc. Entry is the main criteria, one should not when to invest in gold or real-estate, wrong timing or entry price may result in loss during later stage.

Rule 2: Be Greedy When Others Are Fearful. I have been telling all my clients to invest before couple of months when fear was at peak. Tata steel bought at 177, now trading @482, Reliance bought @1011, now @2036, ICICI bank bought @302, now trading @807.

Happy investing !!

Hi

First of all, I appreciate you for making wise decision in investing.

Thumb rule of investing: You investment should beat inflation.

Let me explain you in brief about this: Try to find out your total expenses in month(food, rental, cloths, movie tickets etc). Let us say it comes to around 15,000. Now calculate your total expense for the same last year, lets say it comes to around 12,000. So 3, 000 increase in expenses in one year, 20% increase in expense. Your investment should be in such way that can overtake this increase in expense(20%).

Try consulting an investment training firm, there is one in Chennai which helps small investors and part-time traders to earn money. They are not selling shares or mutual funds, they mentor and educate investors to make money in stock market.
