| Hi, I think it is best to have a mixed bag of investments - never put all your eggs in one basket. For long term, real estate is best while bank fd's are good short term investments. as for shares, i think we should invest only as much as we can afford to lose - very high risk, but the returns are great too.. |

| dear mythraeyi, You are right. It is best to have a mixed basket. It should be based on liquidity, safety, returns and your risk apetite. i am very much surprised to see you selecting fd as good for short term.I think you want to be safe at all times. Shares, if properly invested with some strict discipline will always give us good returns even in shortterm. Thanks for posting your views here. Quote:

| hi, If you have the means then real estate is always first. otherwise stocks are the next best option. ammvin. |

| dear tulips and ammvin, Thanks for your views. If we can afford, then real estate is the best long term investment. Now a days it give good returns even in short term. When we look at the risk return ratio,it is the best. Stocks also have the same qualities. But here the risk is little high. But it is more liquid than any other asset. By proper planning, we can have a class of assets which give us returns both in shortterm and longterm. |
