| Hi Krithika, Im the ex-FM of my house. In the initial years of marriage every bill wud be routed thru me for approval. I wud have time to make bank reconciliation statements too (since im from accounting b/ground) but now after a decade of marriage and now with 2 additions to the family, i have voluntarily resigned from this post and let my hubby gracefully take this seat. So as of now, my hubby is the FM and im the HM...home minister. |

| It depends on how good that partner is and comfortable to do the job. We don't have any designated positions ... if hes busy, I do it and vice versa. When it comes to major spending/investment.. we both discuss and come to a solution and act on that goal :)

| dear nandu, As you said,It is always good to discuss on major spendings.sharing resp will reduce our mental burdens to a greater extent. In my case,i am the fm,hm,pm,president ........ Sometimes i feel bored.BUt this has made my dh a star performer of his co.so i take it as a sweet burden. |

| Dear krithika, Good topic.. Both me and my DH are the FM's of our house. We both decide on the major issues / investments. There are times he would want to spend on something where i would feel its unimportant or vice versa. As we have a good understanding and respect each other's feelings, things run smoothly. There's always a book besides the cash box. As and when we take the money we would make a note of the expense. At the end of each month would discuss about the expenses and try to cut down on a few. |

| I am FM in day to day matter but when major decisions taken we both discuss and take the decision. But on whatever we spend we speak out each other so both of us know where we are spending. No restrictions on spending.............

| In our case, it is my husband. He is the finance guy in our household.. As for me, my ears and mind all get blocked the moment the word finance is uttered. ![]()
